| Hawai’i Magazine held its 10th annual photo contest in 2008. I had the great fortune of winning the grand-prize honor. My image of a young male monk seal was entered in the Kaua’i category. I won airfare for two to Honolulu from Hawaiian Airlines and a five-day, six-night stay at Outrigger Reef on the Beach Hotel in Waikiki. I enjoyed a relaxed getaway in November 2009.
